Built in 1965-1968, this Brutalist building was designed by I. M. Pei to house the Everson Museum of Art, founded in 1897. The building is clad in rough-textured concrete with multiple irregularly-shaped boxy wings arranged in a pinwheel formation around a central core, ribbed concrete slab floors, ribbons of glass that extend from the base of the building to roof skylights at the east and west ends of the core of the building, a landscaped plaza with planters containing flowering pear and cherry trees that surround the building, and a one-story concrete pavilion that stands alone to the west ‹›
