Built in 1884-1886, this Romanesque Revival-style church was designed by Henry Hobson Richardson for the congregation of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, established in 1867. The building features a red brick exterior with rough-hewn stone trim, a front gable roof, roman arched window bays, a inwardly tapering wall along the Allegheny Avenue facade, gabled dormers, and roman arched entry portals at the front porch. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2000. It is also a contributing structure in the Allegheny
