Built in 1895, this early Prairie-style house was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for Chancey Williams. The house bears some resemblance to the later Prairie-style work of Wright, but is more eclectic in character than many of Wright’s later commissions. The house is clad in stucco and buff roman brick with a hipped roof, wide overhanging eaves, distinctive front dormers with awnings and oriel windows, an arched entrance bay, a front terrace with rough-hewn stone accents, a Spanish-style window next to the front entrance door, and a slim brick chimney at the center of the house.
