The Walter H. Gale House in Oak Park (1893). It was the first house Frank Lloyd Wright designed after his exile from Adler & Sullivan. The Gales are one of the oldest families in Oak Park, and Wright would design five houses for their family (three in Oak Park). Although technically not a bootleg building, the house shares many similar motifs of this period, taking common styles (in this case, Queen Anne) and reinterpreting it with a focus on the contrast of horizontal and vertical lines.‹›
