The M/S Maritime Museum of Denmark (Danish: M/S Museet for Søfart) is a maritime museum located in Helsingør, Denmark. The museum is primarily underground and is built around a historic dry dock. The dock itself remains an empty space, crossed by ramps and bridges that provide access to the museum and the exhibition areas. The decision to build underground was made to comply with height restrictions imposed on the design to protect the viewshed of nearby Kronborg Castle (since 2000, a UNESCO World Heritage site).
