The Leigheys lived in the home in Falls Church from the time they purchased the home (1947) through the early 1960s. Mr. Leighey’s health began to fail him about this time. In 1961, they received a first notice that their home was in the path of a new highway being built. They didn’t appear to do anything at this time.
