Frank Henderson House in Elmhurst (1901). It is a mirror image of the Warren Hickox House in Kankakee. Henderson came to the Chicago area to take a job with the financial firm Adams Express. In the 1890s he was the manager of a store for the Manhattan Rubber Company on Lake Street in Chicago. He managed this store until his death in 1923. Henderson probably learned of Wright from the Emery family, who owned the lot in Elmhurst that the Hendersons were interested in purchasing. The Emerys were close friends with Walter Burley Griffin, who was Wright's chief draftsman at the time. The house was ‹›
