Vorstädte - Aeschenplatz The Bank for International Settlements was established in 1930 by an intergovernmental agreement and was originally intended to facilitate reparations imposed on Germany by the Treaty of Versailles after World War I. The Botta Building was the former UBS headquarters before housing the BIZ which had no room left in the Tower Building. Arch. Mario Botta and Martin Burckhardt und Partner 1986-95.
